I like to use a no. 12 pistol pete in silver with a little spinner on it and that has worked great in years past. Also a Johnson Beach Fly works well. Good luck.

Launched the 14 ft aluminum at 5:30 pm wanting to chase some silvers around after catching a decent fish in the early am trolling a herring spinner. Weather was perfect. Usind this fly I like for returning silvers hooked a nice src about 12 inches that came off when I was getting the cam out.

Went around to the southside side of southworth pt and out of the current tucked into shore in 10 ft of water was a large school of herring. There were the firecracker size.

There were salmon and src busting the surface eating the herring. Put on this baitfish pattern which is a candlefish pattern. Did not have a larger profile baitfish pattern. Had no luck on the fish. was hoping for a blackmouth. took a cool video of the fish and herring.

Fished til really dark. some seals showed up for the fun and a river otter I believe.
